The 4th of July is Wednesday! The boys and I have been planning to make these 4th of July theme, tie dyed tee shirts and they were so excited to work on them today! It really is an easy project that you can do with multiple ages. My boys are 8, 5 and 3 and they all had a blast with this!
All you need is a white t-shirt, rubber bands, clothes pins, red tie dye paint and blue tie dye paint! The original instructions called for Rit Dye Tint Blue and Rit Dye Tint Red paint but I could not find so we used the Tie Dye paint in pic, from Walmart.
After that, the boys pinched a close pin in the center of the shirt and then we folded in half and wrapped up with rubber bands! Then comes the messy part!
For the messy part, we moved outside to the deck and I put a trash bag down, grabbed a bucket and each boy held the tshirt over the bucket and proceeded to squirt their shirts with the color ratio of their choice.
Once the paint has covered the shirt then wrap the t-shirt in Plastic wrap and leave them that way until the kiddos wake up and want to take the rubber bands off! BTW, you leave the shirt, in the plastic wrap for about 6-8 hours.
Oh my gosh!!! They turned out so good!! The boys love them and they are all so different! What do you think?!
So Fun and Easy! Happy 4th of July week!!
